How the calculator works
Choose an item and select Add item. Add the same item again to increase the quantity, or use the plus and minus buttons in your list. The totals panel compares your meal to your daily calorie target and to the 2,300 mg daily value for sodium.
The filters limit the list to vegetarian items or items with no gluten ingredients. Neither filter means the food is safe for a severe allergy or celiac disease, because kitchens share equipment.
Calculator vs meal builder
This calculator is for adding up several standard items, like a whole family's order or a day of road-trip food. If you want to customize one item with toppings and sauces, use the MTO meal builder instead.
Reading the results
- Calories: the meter turns red once you pass your daily target.
- Protein: many adults aim for 20 to 40 g per meal.
- Sodium: the meter tracks the 2,300 mg daily value. One sub or quesadilla can use more than half of it.
